  • Specifications for system operation

    • GENERAL SYSTEM OPERATION
      THE SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO TURN ON AN AIRCRAFT COMMUNICATION RADIO AND / OR AUDIO PANEL WITH A SINGLE PUSH BUTTON SWITCH. WHEN THE BATTERY MASTER SWITCH IS TURNED ON THE GC-28B--25 IS DESIGNED TO DISENGAGE FROM THE BATTERY AND CONNECT TO THE REGULAR AVIONICS POWER BUS.

    • POWER SWITCHING CAPABILITY
      THIS IS A SOLID STATE ELECTRONIC RELAY:  DESIGNED TO HANDLE UP TO 25 AMPS OF CURRENT SURGES UP TO 35 AMPS.
       
    • GROUND CLEARANCE SWITCH
      ALMOST ANY STANDARD PUSH BUTTON SWITCH WILL WORK. A SNAP ACTION SWITCH IS RECOMMENDED WITH A LIGHT TO SHOW ACTIVATION OF THE GROUND CLEARANCE CIRCUIT FOR THE PILOT. (REFER TO SCHEMATIC FOR CORRECT INSTALLATION).

      THE GROUND CLEARANCE SWITCH SHOULD USE 22 GA WIRE FROM THE SWITCH TO THE GC-28B-25  THE CONTINUOUS SWITCH CURRENT, IF HELD DOWN, WILL BE APPROXIMATELY 15 mA.

    • AIRCRAFT BATTERY MASTER SWITCH
      TO DISENGAGE THE GC-28B-25 THE BATTERY MASTER SWITCH MUST BE CONNECTED TO THE GC-28B-25 . WHEN THE SWITCH IS TURNED ON A SIGNAL IS SENT TO THE GC-28B-25 CONTROL CIRCUIT TO TURN OFF THE SOLID STATE RELAY GC-28B-25. (REFER TO SCHEMATIC FOR CORRECT INSTALLATION).

      NOTE: YOU DO HAVE TO USE THE BATTERY MASTER SWITCH TO DISENGAGE THE GC-28B-25, IT IS SUGGESTED THAT YOU DO SO. HOWEVER, IF YOU WANT A SEPARATE SWITCH TO TURN OFF THE GC-28B-25, YOU MUST USE A SWITCH THAT WILL HANDLE THE PEAK CURRENT OF THE AVIONICS MASTER SWITCH.
    • INSTALLATION OF THE GC-28B-25 IN AN AIRCRAFT
      ONLY A QUALIFIED AVIONICS SHOP, OR AVIONICS PERSON, SHOULD INSTALL, ADD / OR CHANGE ANY WIRING IN ANY AIRCRAFT OR AIRCRAFT SYSTEM.

      THE SCHEMATIC ON THE REVERSE SIDE IS A GENERAL GUIDELINE ON HOW TO INSTALL THE GC-28B-25 IN EXISTING OR NEW INSTALLATIONS AND DOES NOT PERTAIN TO ANY ONE TYPE OF RADIO SYSTEM. YOUR PARTICULAR SYSTEM MAY REQUIRE MORE, OR DIFFERENT, CIRCUIT BREAKERS AND / OR LIGHTING.
